The Chinese firm BYD has introduced the 2024 version of its upcoming 2024 BYD Dolphin in India. The new BYD Dolphin comes with enhancements in features and a nearly 4.7% reduction in price compared to the previous model.
Earlier this month, BYD had trademarked the Dolphin name in India, hinting at a potential launch by the year’s end. It will be in competition with the MG ZS EV, the forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the Tata Curv EV.

2024 BYD Dolphin: Expected Features
The 2024 BYD Dolphin has been unveiled featuring fresh alloy wheels and additional color choices. Most of its design remains similar to the previous model.
Enhancements in the electric vehicle include the addition of features like a USB Type-C charging port, a 50W wireless phone charging pad, and ventilated front seats.
Furthermore, the latest model will also include amenities such as a 12.8-inch touchscreen, PM 2.5 filter, synthetic leather upholstery, electronic parking brake, panoramic glass roof, and ADAS.
The basic version of the Dolphin is equipped with a 32-kWh battery pack, offering a range of 302 kilometers with a single charge, while the premium version comes with a 45-kWh battery that can provide a range of 420 kilometers.
Moreover, the fashion variant shares the same powertrain as the battery-free variant and represents the top-of-the-line Night variant. Its initial price starts at 99,800 yuan (around 11.49 lakh rupees).
In India, the Dolphin might be introduced with a price tag of 24-25 lakh rupees (excluding showroom costs).
