The German automaker BMW has produced luxury SUVs since 1999. The newly launched 2023 BMW X5 is part of BMW’s X series, which includes various SUV models. The X5 is known for its combination of luxury, performance, and versatility.
The facelifted BMW X5 is launched in India with two petrol variations and two diesel variations. The car has a staring price of Rs 93.9 lakhs (ex-showroom) ranging up to Rs 1.06 crores.
The premium feature of the latest SUV is the new-age kidney grille design which is also available on multiple models of BMW.
2023 BMW X5 design and interior
2023 BMW X5 features Matrix LED headlights with elongated, muscular bonnet. The car has a sleek look with integrated C-shaped DRLs, new-age kidney grille, chrome-lined windows. It comes with auto-folding Outside Rear View Mirror (ORVMs), roof rails and designer flared 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear end has a shark-fin antenna and wrap-around LED taillamps with fiber-optic elements.
The biggest change in the interior of 2023 BMW X5 is the twin screen panel of 14.9-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. BMW X5 comes with two variants- xLine trims and M Sport trims. The xLine get Sport seats with a heating function, while the M Sport trims get Comfort seats with ventilation.
BMW also has cruise control system, parking assistance with 360-degree camera, reverse assist, remote parking with the help of smartphone or drive recording. Moreover, there are 6 airbags and much more as safety feature of the car.
Powertrain and engine specifications
The new 2023 BMW X5 will be available in both petrol and diesel powertrains and both get a 48V mild-hybrid system. The 3.0-liter straight-six gasoline engine in the xDrive 40i model makes 381 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.0-liter straight-six diesel engine in the xDrive 30d version makes 286 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
An eight-speed automatic transmission and an electric motor with 12 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque come with both engines. According to the company, the diesel engine can complete the 0-100kph run in 6.1 seconds, compared to the petrol engine’s stated 5.4 seconds. The top speeds for the petrol and diesel models are 233 and 250 kilometers per hour, respectively.
