Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Kinetic Green may launch theKinetic Luna Electric, the popular moped of the 80-90s, in February.
Company founder and CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani has confirmed the launch timeline and bookings for the electric Luna will begin from January 26.
The company is spending a budget of Rs 150 crore on this project and plans to invest Rs 500 crore in the next 3 years.
Kinetic Luna Electric: What to expect?
The design of the Electric Kinetic Luna will be similar to its old model, but it will have a modern touch. It will have square LCD headlight with bulb indicator, split seat with storage space, front crash guard and rear grab rail.
For suspension, dual rear shocks with telescopic front forks and drum brakes at both ends will be provided. The moped will be useful in city and rural areas with a payload of 150 kg and a strong chassis.
Electric Luna is likely to be offered with 3 battery packs, the first of which will be a 2kWh battery pack. It will be capable of giving a range of 80 kilometers on a single charge.
The company is looking to introduce a 1.5kWh battery pack (40-45 km range) and 3kWh battery pack (100-125 km range) for Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.
The price of this electric scooter is expected to be around Rs 50,000 (ex-showroom).
