Features of the Tesla Roadster
Tesla unveiled the 4-seater Roadster back in 2017 originally slated for a 2020 release. However, disruptions in the supply chain due to the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays in its launch.
Musk later indicated in 2021 that the car would hit the market in 2023, but that timeline also passed without fruition. Now, prompted by the announcement of a supercar launch by Chinese competitor BYD amid heated competition, Tesla is accelerating its efforts to introduce the Roadster.
The CEO of the company has revealed that the Roadster can achieve a speed of 0 to 96.56 km/h in under one second. This high-performance vehicle is being developed in partnership with SpaceX, the rocket company owned by Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk.
The Roadster will come with a SpaceX upgrade package containing around 10 small rocket thrusters positioned strategically around the car.
These thrusters will improve the car’s acceleration, speed, and braking capabilities. Elon Musk has boasted that this car will be the most impressive sports car ever created.
