Japanβs leading automobile manufacturer Honda is currently working on a new electric car, Honda Elevate EV. The company can launch this vehicle in the coming few months. At present this vehicle has been given the codename DG9D.
Apart from this, Honda has also started work on Project Asian Compact Electric (ACE), under which the company is planning to create an electric vehicle manufacturing hub in India.
Honda Elevate EV will be a compact C-segment electric SUV. It will compete with the Tata Nexon EV already on sale in the country, which is capable of offering a range of 453 km. Apart from this, Elevate Electric will compete with Mahindra XUV400 and MG ZS EV.
Let us tell you that currently Tata Nexon will have the highest sales in this segment. To compete with this vehicle, Hyundai can also launch its Creta in electric variant.
Honda Elevate EV: Expected feactures
The Honda Elevate electric car may get a boxy look like the current model. The length of this car will be 4.31 meters and width will be 1.71 meters.
It can get a hexagonal black-out closed grille at the front and square headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs). The Elevate electric SUV will also get wraparound taillamps, wider tailgate and sportier bumpers with black cladding. Indicator-mounted ORVMs, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and roof-mounted antenna will also be available on its sides.
The cabin of Honda Elevate Electric will be quite premium. It can be provided with features like full-digital instrument console, large touchscreen infotainment system supporting smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, dual zone climate control, multi-functional steering wheel and leather upholstery.
It will also have a comfortable 5-seater cabin with dualtone dashboard. Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, features like many airbags, ADAS technology, hill assist and parking camera will also be added to it.
Honda Elevate EV: Range and Price
No official information has been revealed yet about the powertrain of the electric variant of Honda Elevate. It is estimated that a battery pack of 40 to 50kWh can be provided in this vehicle.
With this battery pack, it can be given a 134bhp or 152bhp motor. With this setup, Honda Elevate EV will be able to deliver a range of 400 kilometers.
The company will launch this vehicle with βeβ badging.
Information about the price and availability of the electric variant of Honda Elevate in the country will be given at the time of its launch. It is estimated that its price could be around Rs 25 to 30 lakh.
