Recently launched Hyundai Exter SUV has won the title of Indian Car of the Year 2024. Along with Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Honda Elevate, Toyota Innova HyCross has won the first and second runner-up awards respectively.
In this list, Honda Elevate, Hyundai Verna, Mahindra XUV400, Citroen C3 Aircross, and MG Comet were also included. Hyundai Exter was launched in July this year and its starting price is Rs 6 lakh.

Hyundai Exter: Features
Hyundai Exter is equipped with a 1.2-liter kappa engine along with the CNG option. In India, this car will compete with Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. It is available in 5 trims EX, SM SX, SX(O), S, and SX(O). The company is claiming that the fuel economy rating of Exter is 19.4kpl for the manual trims and 19.2kmpl for AMT. The factory-fitted CNG option offers a much superior fuel economy of 27.10kpl.
The Hyundai Exter is built on Hyundaiβs K1 compact car platform. It will be less than 4 meters in length. Its length will be 3595mm, width 1595mm and height 1575mm.
Hyundai Exter: Cabin and Safety Features
It has a flat bonnet. Also, for better lighting, its LED headlamp and Daytime Running Light (DRL) have been set on the bumper. Apart from this, LED taillamps have been given like Hyundai Venue.
For on-the-go entertainment, the Hyundai Exter get a touchscreen infotainment system with Blue Link connectivity, wireless charger, 6-speaker audio system, height-adjustable front seats.
It will get a more spacious 5-seater cabin, which will include fabric upholstery, auto climate control, keyless entry and multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control feature.
For the safety of the passengers,Β Hyundai ExterΒ get Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), burglar alarm system.
Also, it will get 3-point seat belts, seatbelt reminder, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD, rear parking sensors and ESS.
Hyundai Exter: Price
Hyundai Exter launched at starting price of Rs 6 lakh and going up to Rs 9.32 lakhs for the top-spec-trim. The price of automatic trims start at Rs 7.97 lakhs and CNG trims start at Rs 8.24 lakhs (all prices Delhi ex-showroom).
