South Korean car manufacturer Kia Motors is currently working on a new compact SUV. This will be the Kia Clavis SUV, which can be placed below the Kia Sonet in the segment.
Currently, testing of this vehicle has started in the Indian market. The company is preparing to bring this new SUV in ICE and electric versions.
Information about the price and availability of this compact SUV in the Indian market will be given at the time of its launch. It is estimated that the price of this vehicle can start from around Rs 6 lakh.

KIA Clavis SUV: Design
Kia’s upcoming Clavis SUV could be built on the platform of Hyundai Exter. Its length will be less than 4-metres. This vehicle will be brought in a boxy look.
In terms of design, it will borrow some elements from Sonet and Seltos. DRLs, projector headlights and a new grille can be offered in this vehicle.
Apart from this, diamond-cut alloy wheels and side cladding can be seen in its side profile.
KIA Clavis SUV: Powertrain
Kia can launch its Kia Clavis in electric and ICE variants. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine can be found in the ICE version of this vehicle, which will be capable of generating 120 PS power and 172 Nm peak torque.
For transmission, this engine can be paired with the option of 6iMT and 7DCT gearbox. The power train of its electric version is not yet known, but it is expected that it will be capable of giving a range of 350-400 kilometres.
KIA Clavis SUV: Cabin
The upcoming SUV will have a comfortable 5-seater cabin. The cabin of this vehicle will get more space than the Kia Sonet, due to which the rear passengers will get more leg-space.
Apart from this, a digital infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can be found in the vehicle. Company can also introduce ADAS in this upcoming SUV.
Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, it can be provided with features like multiple airbags, anti-lock braking system, hill assist and electronic braking system.
