Premium bike maker KTM is working on a new KTM Duke 990 bike, which was recently spotted testing.
New information about it has come to light from the latest photographs. The test mule of the bike is seen to have the same frame as the Duke 890 and will have a new front fascia, which is similar to the Super Duke 1290 and KTM Duke 390.
Apart from this, the outputs of the new parallel-twin engine of Duke 990 have also been leaked online.
KTM Duke 990: looksΒ
The headlight fairing on the upcoming KTM Duke 990 has been manufactured using a 3D printer, in what appears to be an almost final design.
It will have twin LED lamps, LED strips along the side headlamp units, slightly longer turn indicators atop the front fascia and new mirrors.
Also, the swingarm has been given a solid design, while WP units can be found for the suspension and a new exhaust system has been given with a large collector below the engine.
Engine will be more powerful than Duke 890
The KTM Duke 990 Duke will get a modified version of the Duke 890 engine. It will be launched with a 947cc, parallel-twin powertrain, which will produce 124bhp power and 103Nm torque. The powertrain output of the latest bike is more than the Duke 890’s 122bhp and 99Nm.
It is believed that this two-wheeler will be launched next year and its price will be more than the starting price of Duke 890 by Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
