Mahindra and Mahindra is currently working on an updated version of its Thar Facelift for the Indian market. As per the reports company is planning to launch this off-roading SUV with an updated design. Mahindra is planning to launch this SUV in 2026. Some leaked documents suggest that the company is working on this SUV as a codename of W515.
Apart from this the dimension and powertrain of this SUV will be unchanged it will be same as the current generation model. So, In this article we will discuss about the expected features of the upcoming Thar Facelift.

Design of the Upcoming Mahindra Thar Facelift
Currently, the Thar Facelift is under work and its design will be very similar to its 5-seater version Mahindra Thar Roxx and company is working on this SUV as a codename of W515.
This will be the Thar 3-seater and it will be equipped with all LED lighting setup, LED DRLs and new design alloy wheels, blackout ORVMs in rectangular shape. This SUV will be equipped with circular front headlamps, rectangular tail-lamps, and new front and rear bumper.
In terms of dimension, this SUV will be 3985 mm in length, 1820 mm Width, and 1844-1,855 mm in height. This car has a wheelbase of 2450mm and a ground clearance of 226 mm.
Powertrain of Upcoming Thar Facelift
According to the report, the upcoming Thar facelift will offer three engine options. The first is a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 152 hp. The second option is a 1.5-liter unit that produces 119 hp and peak torque of 300 Nm. Lastly, there is a 2.2-liter diesel engine that generates 132 hp.
All three engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, while the 2.2-liter diesel engine will also be available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
In terms of performance, we expect the top speed of this SUV to be around 150-155 km/h, and its mileage will range between 8 km/l and 15.2 km/l, depending on the variant and driving conditions.
Cabin
The cabin of this SUV will remain unchanged. It will feature a 5-seat configuration, a 3-door design, Multifunctional steering wheels with controls mounted on the steering, a semi-digital driver display, and a 10-inch infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
In terms of safety features, this SUV will be equipped with six airbags, rear parking sensors and cameras, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), and Hill Hold Assist, among other safety enhancements.
Pricing
The price and availability of the upcoming Thar Facelift will be announced at the time of its launch. We anticipate that the company will introduce this SUV at a starting price of ₹10-11 lakh (ex-showroom).
