India’s leading car company Maruti Suzuki has recall for 87,599 units of its popular SΒ PressoΒ andΒ EecoΒ vehicles in India.
The company has recall is to inspect a possible defect in a part of the steering tie rod, which may affect vehicle steerability and handling of the cars.
The affected cars manufactured between July 5, 2021 and February 15, 2023.

Steering tie rod breakage can be a serious issue
As per the report, “It is suspected that there is a possible defect in a part of the steering tie rod, used in such vehicles, which in a rare case, may break and affect vehicle steerability and handling.”
The incidents of steering tie rod breakage are rare. However, upon occurring, they impair the vehicle’s handling and can cause serious trouble.
Why companies Recall their Cars?
Vehicle recalls are carried out by manufacturers from time to time to address potential issues. Recalls or service campaigns are usually conducted by carmakers in order to prioritize the safety and convenience of their customers.
During the process, the automakers summon affected vehicles from specific batches to their authorized workshops, where the service staff replaces the faulty components free of cost.
This is the fourth car Recall of the company in 2023
This is the fourth recall by Maruti Suzuki this year, and, so far, it has recalled 1,23,351 units. The first was on January 17, 2023, for 17,362 units.
TheΒ second recall came six days laterΒ on January 23, 2023 for 11,177Β Grand Vitara SUVs.
MarutiβsΒ third recall this year was announced on April 21, 2023 for 7,213 units of the Baleno RS hatchback.
