Tata Punch has commenced production of the CNG-backed Punch micro-SUV in India. It will be launched here soon. Its series production has begun in India.

The Tata Punch i-CNG will be Tata Motors’s fourth addition to its CNG line-up in India after Tata Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz.

tThe micro SUV will also get the carmaker’s unique dual-cylinder setup that doesn’t eat into boot space.

Tata Punch i-CNG has carries the rugged and sporty design cues from its petrol-powered sibling, the Tata Punch.

It has bold and aggressive stance, muscular wheel arches with disc brakes, and a high bonnet. The Punch EV exudes a sense of adventure and urban appeal.

It features a sporty front grille, sleek LED headlamps, and a sculpted rear section. The car also has LED taillights, providing a modern and dynamic look.

The Punch i-CNG will be powered byΒ same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that sees duty in the petrol-powered Punch.

It will come paired solely to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine produces 86hp and 113Nm of torque with petrol, and with CNG, it churns out 77hp and 97Nm of peak torque

This car has got five stars in the Global NCAP crash test. Tata Punch scored 16.45 out of 17 for adult occupant protection. Talking about the safety of children, this SUV has scored 40.89 out of maximum 49 points.

The compact dimensions of the Punch EV make it ideal for traffic while maintaining a spacious and comfortable cabin.

It combines style, comfort, and modern technology. The fresh snapshots show 2-spoke steering wheel and paddle shifters. The spacious interior offers ample headroom and legroom for both the driver and passengers.

But the fact remains that it is still given only a lap belt to protect the rear middle passenger.
In fact NCAP has also recommended that Tata test its punch and include side head impact protection and 3-point seatbelts for all occupants.

Price and Availability of Tata Punch i-CNG

The new micro-SUV is expected to go on sale sometime later this year with prices likely to start from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
