The Tata Punch iCNG is built on the Alpha-ARC platform. It gets the Tata brand’s “Humanity Line” grille, split headlamp setup with LED DRLs, sleek bumpers and a dual-tone paintwork. It also gets wrap-around taillights, window wipers and a sculpted tailgate.

The CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is built on the Heartect platform. It gets a muscular clamshell bonnet, bumper-mounted tri-beam LED headlights, split-type DRLs, a blacked-out grille and silver skid plates.

Which car offer powerful engine?

Maruti Suzuki Fronx is powered by a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with CNG kit, which generates 68.5hp power and 91.5Nm peak torque.

The Tata Punch is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.2L 3-cylinder, Revotron petrol engine that generates 75.94bhp power and 97Nm torque.

For transmission, both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Punch iCNG can cover a distance of 26.5 km in one kg of CNG, while Fronx CNG is capable of covering a distance of 29 km in one kg of CNG.

For the safety of the passengers, Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Fronts get 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts and seat belt reminder as standard.

These include electronic safety features such as electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill assist control, rear parking sensors, TPMS (Highline).

Both these vehicles have a 5-seater cabin with a black-out cabin. Also, it has a touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Tata Punch iCNG has been launched at Rs 7.10 Lakh and the top model costs Rs 9.68 Lakh. Maruti Suzuki Fronx price starts from Rs.7.46 Lakh.

Its Sigma CNG variant has been priced at Rs 8.41 lakh and Delta model has been launched at Rs 9.27 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Even though the Frons is a great CNG car, our vote goes to the Punch iCNG because of better looks and affordability.
