Toyota will enter the Indian electric vehicle market with its inaugural electric SUV next year. It is expected that Toyota will launch this electric car between September and October 2025, approximately six months following the introduction of Maruti Suzuki’s first electric model, the eVX.

Toyota’s electric SUV will utilize a platform akin to Maruti eVX but will undergo slight design modifications by the Japanese manufacturer.

Drawing inspiration from an urban SUV concept unveiled last year, the forthcoming vehicle’s design will be influenced accordingly.

The price of the electric SUV is expected to be around 25 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).

Toyota’s electric SUV: Expected Features

The forthcoming mid-size electric SUV from Toyota boasts a sleek exterior, C-shaped LED daytime running lights, and a sturdy profile.

In terms of size, it will share similarities with Maruti’s upcoming electric vehicle, with dimensions measuring 4,300mm in length, 1,820mm in width, 1,620mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,700mm.

The spacious and user-friendly interior could potentially offer a dual-screen setup comprising a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system. Additionally, alongside a 360-degree camera, numerous safety features may also be incorporated into the vehicle’s design.

The electric SUV from Toyota will be developed on Maruti Suzuki’s 27PL skateboard platform, offering the choice of two battery pack options.

It’s anticipated that the base model will be equipped with a 48kWh battery pack, providing an estimated range of about 400 kilometers.

Alternatively, there will be a larger battery pack option with a capacity of around 60kWh, offering a range of approximately 550 kilometers.
