India’s larget wo-wheeler manufacturer company Hero MotoCorp plans to launch 3 new hero electric scooters next year. Recently company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Niranjan Gupta announced this in Hero World 2024 event.
The company is also considering launching electric bikes by partnering with electric bike manufacturers. During this event, Hero has launched the Hero Extreme 125R along with the Maverick 440 Roadster bike.
Speaking to news agency PTI, CEO Niranjan Gupta said, “In FY2025, we will launch electric scooters in the mid-price segment and economy segment to expand our Vida range. We will also launch another electric scooter in the B2B last-mile delivery segment. Will launch two-wheelers.”
Gupta further said that it will take some time to introduce electric bikes through the company’s partnership with California-based Zero Motorcycles.
Regarding increasing the sales of electric two-wheelers, the company said that till last week it has increased the reach of Vida to 100 cities and there are plans to expand it to 100 more cities by next year.
The company chief said Hero will also open exclusive small stores for Vida. Hero is also working on increasing production capacity, which is currently 6,000 per month, with a target of taking it to 10,000 by March.
