BYD unveiled the Seal U SUV at the Geneva Motor Show 2024, expanding its Seal lineup after the sedan.
Being a major player in PHEVs and EVs, BYD sold over 1.8 million vehicles in 2022 and surpassed 3 million in 2023.
The Seal U SUV and the Seal sedan share a common platform, offering similar features.
The Seal U SUV, already marketed as the BYD Song in China, marks BYD's entry into the European market and its first PHEV in Europe.
With dimensions of 4,775mm length, 1,890mm width, and 1,670mm height, the Seal U SUV is notably larger than the Seal sedan.
The Seal U SUV offers electric and PHEV powertrain options, including lithium-iron-phosphate batteries with claimed ranges of up to 605km.
Highlight features of the BYD Seal U include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, vegan leather upholstery, wireless phone charging, and a 15.6-inch infotainment system, some of which are also available in the India-bound BYD Seal.
