Yamaha is expected to expand its lineup with its first EV in Virtual Event

Japan’s leading automobile manufacturer Yamaha is going to expand its portfolio in the Indian market. The company can launch its first electric scooter in the country on January 9.

Also, the company is planning to launch the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 and Fascino models available in its existing lineup in new colors. Apart from this, the company can also launch its MT-03 and R3 bikes in new racer variants.

Next week the Yamaha will launch its first electric scooter

At present there is no information about which electric scooter the company will launch next week. However, it is being speculated that Yamaha may launch its E01 electric scooter, which was showcased last year.

It has a 4.9kWh non-removable battery pack with a claimed range of 104 kilometres. The scooter comes with three charging options. The price of this electric scooter can start from around Rs 1 lakh.

Yamaha will also update its scooters

Currently, Yamaha does not sell the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 and Fascino models in white, purple and blue colors in the Indian market.

In such a situation, it is being claimed in many reports that the company is also planning to increase its sales by including some new color options in both its scooters.

Both these models use a 125cc Fi hybrid air-cooled engine, which generates a maximum power of 8.2 PS.

These Yamaha bikes can also get racing variants

Yamaha can launch MT-03 and R3 bikes in new racing variants in the virtual event. The company has launched both these bikes in the Indian market only last month.

These will have a 321cc, twin-cylinder engine, which gives a power of 41.4ps. Torque is 29.5Nm for the R3 and 29.6Nm for the MT-03. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.

The R3 is priced at Rs 4.64 lakh and the MT-03 is priced at Rs 4.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

Yamaha is planning to launch 3 new bikes in the premium middleweight segment this year. Yamaha R7, MT-07 and MT-09 bikes will be launched this year. The company had confirmed this at a dealership event.

Let us tell you that 689cc, liquid-cooled, inline twin engine can be given in R7, MT-07 and MT-09 bikes and their price can be between Rs 8-10 lakh.

MT-09 will be available with 998cc engine and its price will be around Rs 13 lakh.
